Venue
The 2017 ABACBS Conference and COMBINE symposium will be held in Adelaide at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Located on North Terrace in the CBD of Adelaide SAHMRI is right in the centre of South Australia’s new health and medical precinct.
Getting to SAHMRI
SAHMRI is in the north-west corner of the Adelaide city, approximately 8 minutes walk from the Adelaide Railway Station and 20 minutes walk from Rundle Mall (the central shopping mall in the city).
There is also a tram that runs through the city every 15 minutes and stops right outside SAHMRI. If you’re catching it from anywhere within the city, the tram is free. You can also catch the tram in from Southern suburbs. If you do this, you’ll need to buy a ticket on the tram using cash or a card with a PIN. Parking
There is no public parking available at SAHMRI however public parking is available at the Wilson’s parking on Hindley Street. SAHMRI guests receive $16 all day parking (for up to 12 hours), providing they validate their ticket at reception prior to leaving the building. Other parking alternatives are the Convention Centre and several other lots on Hindley St.
Adelaide Airport
The simplest option for transport between the airport and the city is to take a taxi, which would cost approximately $25. There are also buses that run from the airport to the city, although you should check the timetable to make sure they’re still going when you arrive if it’s early morning/late evening or on the weekend. The timetable can be found here. You will need coins for the bus, a ticket will be a maximum of $5.30 for an adult non-concession.
